Step-by-Step Guide How to Play Ratty Catty
- Deal the cards into three piles. You’ll need to have one face-down pile for the stock and two face-up piles for the cats. The dealer will start by flipping over the top card of the stock and placing it in the middle of the two cats.
- On your turn, you’ll either draw a card from the stock or take the top card from one of the cats. You can then either play that card or keep it in your hand.
- Play a card by placing it face-up on top of one of the two cats. Cards of the same rank cancel each other out, so if you play a 5 on top of a 5, they’ll cancel each other out and nothing will happen.
- If you manage to play a card on top of a cat that’s not cancelled out, then you’ll capture that cat. To do this, you’ll take all the cards from that cat and put them in front of you. These captured cards are worth 1 point each at the end of the game.
- The game ends when one player has captured both cats or when the stock runs out of cards. The player with the most points at the end is the winner!
